Who can join?
For this course it is necessary to have 5 Standard Grades at level 3 or above and Work experience or SVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking or Hospitality Multiskilled.
How do I attend?
The course is full time over one academic session or part time over a longer period. It is also possible to gain this qualification if you are in a suitable job. This qualification is offered in Thurso and Dornoch, although attendance dates may be different.
What will I study?
Added to the skills you already have, you will learn more about front of house skills. Full time students may have the benefit of a work placement to provide practical experience. For our students in Dornoch, this means attending Burghfield House Training Hotel, the first of its kind in Scotland. Our Thurso students also benefit from the training provision available at the Burghfield.
What could I do next?
You could obtain employment in industry. In due course you could progress to the HNC Hospitality.
