About the course:
This course is for those who have no catering experience, and would like to gain some professional skills in order to find a job in the catering industry.
Course Content:
This course includes units on health and safety, hygiene and basic cooking processes. The course work is mainly practical with an element of written evidence and you will complete a portfolio for assessments. Each unit is tested with a short question paper when the student is ready for it. This is a one-year course and students who demonstrate good progress are often transferred to NVQ level 2 during the first year.
Equipment Requirements:
You will need catering equipment including full chef's whites, a set of knives and safety shoes costing approximately £150
