International hospitality is challenging, dynamic and expanding rapidly and offers a wide range of exciting employment opportunities. Advancement can be rapid in this industry. Former students are employed in areas including hotel and restaurant management, conference, exhibition and resort management, tourism business development and consultancy work.

Residential Visits
The programme includes two residential study visits (for full-time students) that are included within the course fees. The first visit is to a UK city and seeks to help students put hospitality and tourism operations into context. The second visit involves a trip to a European destination and requires students to complete assessment work linked to modules they are studying. Current students visited Paris in Spring 2009.

Industrial Placement
Students may elect to follow an additional 6 month period of industrial experience at the end of the taught programme which, if successfully completed leads to the award of MSc Hospitality with Tourism Management with placement. Placements are arranged in consultation with the Industrial Placement Centre and will be in the U.K or possibly the U.S.A depending on opportunities available at the time.
