The Hostile & Wildreness EMT course challenges from the outset, providing an in depth curriculum backed up with realistic scenario based exercises in remote (jungle, volcano and coastal locations) locations

The course culminates in a clinical attachment where delegates will work as part of an operational ambulance crew to consolidate their skills and ensure competency and confidence in a truly hostile environment.

This course exceeds the requirements for the IHCD / Royal College of Surgeons First Person on Scene – Intermediate (BTEC Level 2) award & the AREMT EMT-B syllabus and incorporates the following additional modules:

-Tactical Combat Casualty Care

-Trauma Management (AAOS Assessment & Treatment of Trauma)

-Enhanced skills for the remote medic (Fluid resuscitation, airway management, needle decompression and urinary catheterisation)

-Environmental (Snake bite anti venom training including IV & IM injections)

-Primary Health Care & Tropical diseases

-Live Tissue Lab

This 15 day course is ideal for security professionals seeking to work in the oil & gas sector or within close protection teams internationally and provides the essential first aid qualification to apply for a UK Security Industry Authority license to practice Close Protection. Additionally, this course provides the necessary skills for search & rescue personnel, group leaders and NGOs operating in isolated posts.

Throughout the course each theory module is backed up by practical workshops and scenarios which medics are likely to encounter on operations, such as; cardiac arrest, road traffic collisions, building collapse & subsequent crush injuries, gunshot and blast wounds along with dehydration and inhalation injuries.
