ADVANCED MASSAGE TECHNIQUES
My name is Kirsty Ritzema. I am 25 years old and work as a sports therapist in a private musculoskeletal clinic in Sunderland. Over the years, I have worked in the fitness industry, worked in sport, worked as a mobile therapist treating muscular complaints and now I work alongside an osteopath to correct imbalances in the musculoskeletal system as well as treat injuries (ranging from acute to chronic).
After being in practice as a qualified sports therapist for 3 years after completing a 3 year University Degree, I feel that I need to keep my advanced skills sharp to provide an A* service for my clients, so this is why I enrolled on Sue Lincoln’s Advanced Massage Techniques course. I wasn’t quite sure where the level of knowledge bar was going to be set before I went on the course and wasn’t sure if it was going to be an easy ride or be challenging for me. I was hoping for a challenge to get my brain working again and really make me think more about applied anatomy. Sue did not fail me. This course was challenging and made me think about the structures of the body in great detail (something I think we all forget to do from time to time). This course got me really excited about exploring the body again and reminded me of why I love my job!
The course content was thorough, yet not too mind blowing and Sue managed to make it fun. Sue put everything into working context so that it made everything easier to absorb because you could see how the techniques would fit into your working day. I love how courses like this always iron out your bad habits as well which is important in practice so you stay safe and effective during your work. I am extremely pleased with the course that Sue Lincoln delivered and I was blown away by the amount of knowledge Sue has to share. She is warm, easy to talk to and works in the industry so she could relate to all of us.

About this course
The objectives of the course are to understand the theoretical and practical application of Hot Stone Massage and be able to perform a full body massage.
This course is intended for fully qualified Massage therapists who have undertaken a level 3 diploma in Massage and completed a level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology
Massage Qualification
School certificate which is recognised by all major insurers and Professional Associations.
Therapy Training Centre was developed after it was discovered that there was a lack of expert training in the area, leading to recognised qualifications in Training Courses in Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Human Anatomy and membership of recognised professional bodies in the therapies offered, and therefore is responding to the need for high quality training in the Yorkshire area.
The Centre offers an open and caring atmosphere, which engenders feelings of enjoyment in learning, and an awareness of self-development and aims to provide programmes of extensive practical and theoretical studies in each of the courses offered.
Therapy Training Centre provides accredited courses of Aromatherapy and Allied Practitioners' Association (A.A.P.A.), who accredit the Anatomy and Physiology, Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy courses. The Centre’s status allows its graduate members of the AAPA to register with the CNHC as the AAPA is recognised by the CNHC for the verification of aromatherapy, reflexology and massage.
The Centre also offers a comprehensive range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
Students will cultivate an understanding of complementary health care from a holistic standpoint and develop the ability to evaluate and analyse complementary therapies in the framework of allopathic medicine.
