Course programme

This course has a distinctive and practical approach, with time spent during each academic year working in the Yarrow Hotel facility on the East Kent College campus in Broadstairs. You will gain hands-on operational hotel management experience in the 4 star hotel, which has been recently converted from a stunning grade II listed building on the East Kent College campus. The hotel is run by East Kent College and professional hoteliers. At the University’s Broadstairs Campus, academic studies in business and management subjects will complement this training and develop wider industry knowledge and understanding. This course is a collaboration between our well-established business management programme at our Broadstairs campus and East Kent College which has a sound reputation for the delivery of courses and programmes for the hotel and catering industries. This course provides you with an opportunity to gain relevant experience of the nature and reality of management challenges in an operational hotel environment, whilst being supported by industry professionals, lecturers and trainers. The practical nature of the programme is aimed at providing graduates who are ‘business ready’.
