How to Screen Printing

Who is this course for?

The course is aimed at anyone with an interest in printmaking and in particular a desire to learn the basic techniques of screen printing; a versatile and relatively simple method of producing posters, cards, Art Prints, wallpapers and patterned fabrics.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

No formal qualifications are required, but commitment and enthusiasm are essential.

What will I study ?

The course programme covers all techniques of screen printing and studio Health & Safety. Teaching is by demonstration and practical workshops. You will learn how to make your own stencils, these can be made from either your own designs and drawings or an image you have selected to use. You will learn how to prepare screens, working with inks and solvents, screen reclamation, mixing colours, and the registration of images should a print comprise of more than one colour.

How will I be assessed ?

There is no formal assessment however you will receive individual feedback on your portfolio of work
