You will study the following modules: Developing Yourself as an Effective Human Resources Practitioner Which includes study of the CIPD HR Map, creation of a personal development plan, following a self-assessment of learning and development needs, to meet your personal and professional requirements Understanding Organisations and the Role of Human Resources Which develops an understanding of how HR activities support an organisation’s strategy and assist the achievement of business objectives and how these are shaped by internal and external factors Recording, Analysing and Using Human Resources Information Which covers data management and presentation for all areas including HR planning, recruitment and selection, performance and reward management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures, as well as the legal constraints Resourcing Talent Which includes the key stages of the recruitment and selection processes, such as developing knowledge and skills to define in defining and writing job descriptions, contributing to the job advertisement process, shortlisting, conducting face–to-face or telephone interviews and contributing to job offer and rejection letters. Key legislation pertaining to recruitment and selection will be covered Supporting Good Practice in Managing Employment Relations A basic understanding of employment law is essential in today’s world to operate effectively in HR, and this module provides an overview of this across the different aspects of HR activity, looking at good practice and legal requirements within each e.g. working time, work life balance, discipline, dismissal. Supporting Good Practice in Performance and Reward Management Provides an introduction to the purpose and processes of performance and reward management, developing an understanding of areas such as motivational theories, performance management review, financial and non-financial benefits and important determinants of reward decisions.
