To reinforce and extend the knowledge and skills gained on a Foundation hydrotherapy course and to ensure that participants have an understanding on the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic principles relating to exercise regimes in water. To promote an understanding of the physiological changes which occur in the human body during immersion in water, and to increase participants knowledge and skills in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating safe effective hydrotherapy treatments in the management of orthopaedic, rheumatological, and some basic neurological conditions. Two day workshop
Aims:
To reinforce and extend the knowledge and skills gained on a Foundation hydrotherapy course and to ensure that participants have an understanding on the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic principles relating to exercise regimes in water. To promote an understanding of the physiological changes which occur in the human body during immersion in water, and to increase participants knowledge and skills in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating safe effective hydrotherapy treatments in the management of orthopaedic, rheumatological, and some basic neurological conditions.
An introduction to techniques such as Bad Ragaz and the Halliwick method is covered, and it is aimed to give course participants a further insight into pool design and management. Again the course is split into theory and practical sessions.
