ICA IN CARPENTRY AND JOINERY

Description
Students will be given
instruction, guidance and encouragement to practise and develop the skills
necessary to achieve the award. The course covers a wide range of subjects
including:
- 8 units ; including Move and Handle Resources, Contribute
to work efficiency, Access Equipment, Carcassing, 1st Fix Before
Plasterwork, 2nd Fix After Plasterwork and Power Tools
- Practical
synoptic testing
- Knowledge examination multi-choice test
- Health
and safety multi-choice test
Attendance of at least 85% is
necessary in order to complete the course.

Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination,
it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method
of Assessment
The course is continuously assessed with some
external assessment and testing through written and practical
assignments/tests.
Progression
This course is a recognised
route into a full time / part time level 3/ ACA course employment or an
apprenticeship via a training agent.
