What is ICM?

ICM (the Institute of Commercial Management) are one of the world's largest internationally recognised examining boards.

The courses that are run by LITE are all ICM awards and LITE is an ICM Approved Centre.

ICM qualifications are designed to prepare students either for employment in their chosen area or so that students can go onto university in the UK (or any of 80 countries where their qualifications are recognised for matriculation purposes) and complete a degree in the same or a similar subject.

Terms

Each term is 12 weeks in length and start in January, April, June and September (please contact reception for exact dates).

Classes run for 10 weeks, then the exam is in the 11th week, so students do not have formal classes, but the teacher will be available for revision queries and students will be able to spend time in the college completing private revision study.

The 12th week is a course break: so students can relax a little and also start to prepare for the next module by reviewing the new textbook and syllabus.

Teachers

The ICM course teachers are carefully chosen for both their teaching experience and industry knowledge.

They will have worked in the field that they teach as this helps them to best explain to students how the theory they teach on the course works in practice.

Tutorials

Your teacher will meet with you to discuss your progress on the course at least once in each module (although quite often they may spend on-to-one time with you throughout the module).

This helps you to tell your teacher about what you are finding difficult and they can give you advice about how to solve these problems.

Books

The core textbooks for year 1 are included in the course fee and will be given to you at the start of each module.

Examinations

The exams take place at LITE and are closely monitored by an invigilator to make sure they are completed following ICM regulations.

All exam fees are included in the course price (excluding re-sits). Once you have taken the exam, your answer sheet will be sent directly to ICM and an examiner will mark and grade it.

The exams take place in March, June, September and December (at the end of each term).
