ICT (AIDA) Level 2

What is it?

AiDA is part of the revolutionary DiDA ICT course.

The aim of this unit is to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to work with information effectively and productively and to develop your ability to select and use digital applications appropriately and produce high quality outcomes.

The course covers the following:

Graphics

Databases

Presentations

Spreadsheets

Web-design

WP

Use of the Internet and e-mail

The whole course is completed in one year.

How will I learn?

All the lessons will be spent in a computer room where you will have individual access to a computer.

You will learn how to choose between sources of information, carry out effective searches, gather and analyse data to produce useful information and then create meaningful and effective documents such as web pages, presentations, posters and reports.

You will be encouraged to reflect critically on your own and others use of digital applications to enhance creativity and communication.

You will also be given the opportunity to develop project management skills.

Will there be coursework?

Yes The whole course is based around a major project set by Edexcel.

How much practical work is there?

Lots - You will learn how to produce your own e-book and

e-portfolio to display your achievements and provide evidence of your competence.

Who takes it?

Anybody and everybody who has an interest in ICT and Graphics.

What subjects go with it?

It complements all subjects, courses and situations.

What can I do with it?

Students could then progress onto the CiDA, the full DiDA award or advanced level qualifications.

Any other useful information?

This qualification prepares students for the real world of work or further education. It is designed to stimulate students creativity and develop real-world, practical skills that will motivate learning across a wide range of subjects.

You will focus on the use of digital tools to find things out by developing ideas and making things happen.
