Bruce is a member of the IASB’s Advisory Council, IASB’s SME Implementation Group, and the Financial Reporting Standards Council. He has worked for Deloitte both in South Africa and the United Kingdom in their IFRS Centres of Excellence consulting on the implications of IFRS; and with Barclays Capital in London as an Associate Director. During his career he has worked with multinational listed companies, public sector entities and SME’s. Bruce has delivered training across Africa, the USA, Europe and Australia. He is a co-author of the Wiley IFRS 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Back to Basics is W.consultings most comprehensive IFRS CPD event that covers the core standards of IFRS from the perspective of a refresher course. The technical material included in Back to Basics reflects the current requirements of the standards enabling attendees to immediately transfer learning into the work environment. The core standards of IFRS include those requirements that are typical to the majority of entities irrespective of entity size or industry bias.

Overview This is an interactive two-day workshop with the objective of covering the core financial reporting topics within IFRS. This refresher workshop focuses on the requirements of the most common IFRS standards, and deals with some of the challenges relating to the application thereof. The workshop is very interactive and incorporates practical case studies which allow participants to immediately test their understanding of the principles learnt.
NOTE that the course is open to anyone, but as it is a workshop, is limited to 50 participants only!
