Course review:
IHCD FPOS Intermediate is the minimum standard for community responders and close protection officers.
The IHCD is the awarding body (via Edexcel) for NHS ambulance trusts in the UK. It has also been accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. This foundational and valuable course is designed for the immediate care and responses required in any emergency situation. It is the standard required for all community first responders, security and close protection officers as well as those wishing to gain tier 1 medic employment.
ELCAS students can use their learning credits to fund this course.
Due to the varied communities that require this course we have allocated a designated time slot within each of our courses to cover industry specifics. This has included drowning and immersion, assisting the clinician with IV and IO access, RTC extrication etc. We believe in the value of this course and by extending the knowledge and skills of our learners in certain areas, if they require it, not only inreases the skill set of each student but more importantly improves patient care.
Course Dates
We run a FPOS intermediate course every month
After completing written MCQ and practical assessments a certificate will be awarded from IHCD (Edexcel) which is valid for 3 years.
To re-certify after the 3 year period learners will need to complete the written and practical assessments and providing they achieve the current standards we will issue another certificate for a further 3 years. Please call us for details and costs.
