What will I study?
This level 2 qualification covers the basic technical needs for todays motor cycle repair industry. It provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required for service technicians working on motor cycles in all types of garages and dealerships. The Level 2 course lasts 35 weeks though early completion is actively encouraged to facilitate progression onto level 3 course within the first year. This is a nationally recognised, vocationally related qualification (VRQ) which provides the essential knowledge to do a job.
How can I progress?
On successful completion of this qualification, students can progress to Level 3 qualification or may gain employment or an apprenticeship in motor cycle industry.

Course Structure
This is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following units: *Working Safely and Effectively during Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair, *Foundation Skills for Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair, *Motorcycle Construction and Routine Maintenance, *Operating Principles of Motorcycle Tyres, Brakes, Steering and Suspension Systems, *Operating Principles of Motorcycle Engines and associated systems, *Operating Principles and Maintenance of Motorcycle Transmission Systems, *Operating Principles and Maintenance of Motorcycle Electrical and Electronic Systems, *New Motorcycle Assembly. Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.
