Description
This course is designed to give students an introduction to and basic knowledge of the therapeutic Indian Head Massage treatment. Also, to improve the student's understanding of complementary practices, and to have the skills needed to perform a basic Indian Head Massage
Course Content
· Gentle, firm and rhythmic massage of the shoulders, neck, head and face - all energy centres where tension is most likely to accumulate - until the pressure begins to simply float away
· Stimulate scalp circulation to relax the scalp and tone up the subcutaneous muscles, to relieve eye strain and headaches and improve concentration
· Relieve stress which reduces tension at home and in the workplace and minimises anxiety-related illness and absenteeism in the workplace.
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Observation of each component part.
Progression
There are a wide variety of other exercise and health courses available - especially in body massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. There are also full-time courses in hairdressing and beauty therapy that you might be interested in, i.e. 17 week Indian Head Massage course 3 hours per week, leading to a professional qualification.
