Why should I come to Pendleton College?
BTEC ICT students are taught by well-qualified and experienced tutors who are keen to ensure that every students reaches their potential. This course will ensure that students improve their skills and knowledge and are equipped to move on to further study or employment.
What will I study?
A BTEC in ICT allows students to learn more about how ICT is used in the real world, whilst also allowing them to improve their practical skills. To achieve this qualification, students need to study a total of six units. This is through a combination of assignments, group work and individual work. The units include:
- Computer Fundamentals
- ICT to Present
- Networking Essentials
- Software Installation and Upgrade
- Technical Fault
- Installing Hardware Components
What will I achieve?
Completion of this course results in the award of a BTEC First Diploma qualification at Pass, Merit or Distinction grade.
How is the course assessed?
The principal form of assessment is by coursework assignments, some of which are marked externally. There are no formal written exams in this course.
What else will I do?
There are various trips organised by the college which include visits to universities, Euro Disney and Alton Towers.
