Information & Communication Technology National First Award
Skills in digital applications are invaluable and can provide a wide range of career options, as well as routes into further and higher education. This one-year course is equivalent to one GCSE. You need no previous qualification in ICT but previous experience of using computers will be helpful. The majority of teaching and learning takes place on a computer screen, but you will also need to refer to textbooks, tutorial booklets and on-line resources.

ICT Skills for Business

You will learn to organise files, use email and the Internet and use a range of software for business purposes. This includes business presentations, spreadsheets and word processing / desk-top publishing.

Creating Computer Graphics

You will learn to manipulate web graphics, format the layout of your computer and produce graphics.

This course provides the basis for progression to ICT A level. With a minimum of Grade C in Maths, you may also go on to take Computing A level .

Assessment

The course is assessed entirely by coursework.
