Information Technology - A and AS Levels

What are the main features of this course?
AS level is a one year course and in the second year may be continued to A Level ICT. The course is about information and how technology is used in relation to it. It continues the approach to IT in the National Curriculum, but in a more specialised way. Students do both theory work in class and practical work on computers.

How is the course assessed? Who should study this course?
You need the standard College entry requirements for AS levels and with GCSE C in Maths and English. You should have at least some previous experience in using computers. Both male and female students follow this course.

Where can I go next?
To A Level ICT. Students can progress to degrees in ICT or related areas. Students usually have careers in information management or areas which make heavy use of information, such as business, finance or public sector management.
