Course Content You will learn about various aspects of the industry, including the hardware and software components needed to build a PC, the basics of website development, computer graphics, and the first steps in computer programming. You will use a combination of these new skills to create a computer game as this is an exciting and fun way to learn. How will I be assessed? The course is assessed entirely through coursework. Progression This is an excellent starting point for a career in the IT industry. To gain a more secure knowledge of the subject and greater employability skills, you would usually progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT, where you will build on everything learned on this course. After that, you may be able to secure an Apprenticeship, go on to higher education or get a job in an IT-related field. Fees • If you are aged 16–18 as of 31 August on the year of enrolment – no course fee. • If you are over 19 as of 31 August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases.
