Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
Your Higher Diploma includes an additional qualification chosen by you in agreement with your course team. You can make your learning more specialised by choosing an additional qualification that is related to your chosen subject area. Alternatively you might decide to choose another subject area that broadens your learning experience. Your Diploma includes work-related experience which will range from working with local businesses and organisations to having guest speakers come in and talk about the IT industry and how IT has changed and is changing all the time. There will be trips and visits planned into the course as well as the possibility of attending an ICT Previous trips have included Disneyland Paris and Barcelona.

What can I do afterwards?
There are a number of options available. Learners can continue with their education by studying the next level at Advanced Diploma in Information Technology (Level 3). Learners may also want to take another qualification at Level 2 or progress to a Level 3 in a different Diploma line or subject area at Sussex Downs College providing they meet entry criteria. Alternatively, the National Diploma (Level 3) provides a more practical route into the workplace and higher education (full-time two years), whilst the Advanced Computer Support Technician programme is specifically designed for students with an interest in hardware and networking wishing to progress to the workplace.
Are there any additional costs involved?
These will be discussed at interview, though they will include costs for compulsory educational visits, a pair of headphones and a USB storage device.
