Course structureThis course aims to give an introduction to the many and varied methods of creating surface decoration with wood veneers and other materials and to introduce students to a variety of techniques when inlaying or creating pictures in wood veneers. Students will learn to recognise inlay and marquetry techniques on historic examples.
Upon completion of the course students will be able to:
- demonstrate a variety of techniques in inlaying wood
- recognise techniques on objects
- use the appropriate tools when inlaying
