Course programme

Description
A four-day short course aimed at anyone involved in the inspection and testing of electrical systems and possibly requiring certification to meet NICEIC or ECA accredited scheme entry criteria. City and Guilds Certification is achieved on successful completion of both the practical assessment and written examination. The aim of the course is to introduce a student with knowledge of the Wiring Regulations to the fundamentals of Inspection and Testing i.e. no previous practical experience of inspection and testing, the forth day allows a lot more practical experience to be gained and further typical examination questions to be worked through. We also have a 1 day practical day available for candidates who have completed the course and require further 'hands on' practical experience prior to their practical examination. We strongly recommend City and Guilds 2381 is achieved prior to sitting this course, though this is NOT an entry requirement. The examination is a 2.5 hour closed book paper. The examination dates and times are set by City and Guilds and are not flexible. This means that the examination must be taken on the date and at the time set by City and Guilds. The practical assessment takes approximately 3 hours, this can if available be taken on the day following the written examination or at a later date at a time which is mutually convenient to both student and centre. If you wish to take the practical assessment the same week please inform us as soon as possible when booking the course. The course costs include examination entry fees, lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
