Introduction:
It is a legal requirement that all portable electrical appliances are periodically inspected and tested to ensure they are fit for continue use. This course has been designed to enable delegates to comply with the legislation and to reduce accidents and incidents.

Study Mode & Location:
The course will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR. Alternatively the course can be delivered at business premises.

Course Content:
On this course students will cover the following:

• Requirements of the regulations
• Visual inspection
• Fuses and fuse ratings
• Continuity test
• Insulation tests
• RCD and circuit breakers
• Identification & traceability
• Recording and maintaining records
• Testing frequency

Assessment:
There is a formal examination at the end of the course.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
There is no formal progression from this course. Students may progress to other related qualifications.

Additional Information:
You will be required to purchase the recommended protective clothing necessary for this programme of study.

You will need to have an informal interview with an Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
