The IMIS Foundation

The Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS) was formerly called The Institute of Data Processing Management (IDPM) which was formed in 1978 by a merger of the Data Processing Management Association and the Institute of Data Processing. Information Technology is a discipline that is expanding at a rapid pace throughout the world, and consequently there is a high demand for qualified people.

The Institute has become recognised as the foremost professional body in this particular area, and its principal objectives are to advance the understanding of information systems, and to set standards for the information systems profession.
