This course runs at Thames Gateway College at CEME.
Duration :One Year. 18 hours per week. Full time.
Who the Course is For:
This course offers students the opportunity to develop the practical skills and knowledge essential for those who wish to commence employment in vehicle service centres. The course is specifically designed for those who aim to become vehicle service mechanics. This provides for easy progression to day release programmes when students secure employment in the industry, or directly onto the Institute of the Motor Industry Certificate in Motor Vehicle Level 2.
Assessment:
Assessment is in the form of on-line multiple-choice questions set externally by the Institute of the Motor Industry and in order to assess the students' ability to perform practical tasks to industry standards, simulated workshop activities of vehicle servicing are arranged.
Course Leads To:
A career in the vehicle service trade. Progression to the course of Institute of the Motor Industry - Certificate in Motor Vehicle Level 2, for vehicle service and repair technicians. Progression to the IMI Level 2 Apprenticeship.
