Course programme
Interaction designers, who can apply technical skills to social design, are in great demand. This course is for you, if you want to build and refine an effective portfolio to apply for further study in interactive and digital media. It is based on the conceptual and technical expertise LCC has in interface, interaction and motion graphics. It will focus on building contextual awareness and its influence in making work: the understanding and application of subject knowledge and context.
You will receive guidance in putting together roughs, ideas and visual analysis and experimentations. You will covers ways that communicate your work that are not solely focused finished pieces, by presenting your visual thoughts, research, analysis and evidence of your interests.
You will be taught through exercises, lectures, workshops, demonstrations and individual guidance. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a visit to give you a first hand understanding of interactive and digital media practices.
Please note this course is suitable for you, if you are applying for further study at LCC, but does not guarantee entry.

Course Outcomes
By the end of this course you should have:
- Prepared work for inclusion in a portfolio for application for further study in interactive or digital media
- Put together a short written statement for each of the works included in your portfolio
- Put together a collection of ideas, notes and sketches to be included in a notebook / sketchbook to include in your portfolio

This course is suitable for you if you are considering applying for further study in interaction and digital media.
Level
Intermediate: You should have some previous experience of design and basic drawing skills and a small body of work to develop during the course.
