As a student of Interior Craft and Decorative Art, you’ll learn how to design and make or oversee production of the individual decorative detail within interior space. The focus is to work at 1:1 (full) scale, either on the interior architectural fabric itself or the objects placed within it.

You’ll acquire relevant specialist knowledge and production skills through access to our extensive craft and design workshop facilities. Traditional precedent is referenced and understood within the contemporary context, including both historical and technological perspectives.

About this course

The course aims to reflect operations of the professional studio, with collaborative team work, live projects and industry engagement. You’ll build bespoke supplier and artisan networks and develop the ability to manage specialist production to satisfy your project goals. You’ll understand the relevant interior / art market context and how your work is situated within it, leading to the possibility of a range of employability prospects, including specialist interior design or restoration studios and craft industry workshops.

The BA in Interior Craft & Decorative Art is part of a portfolio of courses designed to offer students unique engagement opportunity and focus within the subject area.
