- We will focus on different styles – Art Deco, English Classic 18th Century, French 18th Century Rococo, English Country House, 20th Century Modern, Bohemian, Shaker.
- We will look at the inspiration, the furniture design, the patterns and colours of each era.
- Visual lectures will clarify the unique properties of each genre and its historical context.
- There will a study trip to an example in London and the tutor will provide students with recommended places to visit.
- The tutor will illustrate ways the styles can be adapted to create a contemporary interior.
- You will learn about trends and how classic styles can inform current fashion and marketing.
- You will undertake a variety of styling projects, including a photo shoot, which will allow you to practise and refine your presentation skills.
