About the course
How is the training delivered?
The NVQ Diploma is achieved by the creation of a site diary including workplace evidence and supported by on site assessments. Apprentices also attend Aldershot College once a week to learn the underpinning knowledge required and to develop their skills. In addition, there are regular progress monitoring and support visits to the workplace.

About this course

Who is the Apprenticeship for?
The training programme is intended for new or existing staff working in a site carpentry business. The entry criteria are staff aged and over with GCSEs A*-D in Maths and English. GCSE’s will be considered along with the results of an initial assessment.

NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Level 2 Site Carpentry) Optional units to meet business needs. Mandatory Units • Conform to general workplace safety • Conform to efficient work practice • Move and handle resources Optional Units (choose 3) • Install first fix components • Install second fix components • Erect structural carcassing components • Maintain non structural carpentry work • Set up and use circular saws 2.
