This training programme is intended for those working in or providing support within an engineering environment. The training is delivered and assessed whilst attending Farnborough College once a week to learn the underpinning knowledge and develop skills in practical workshops.You will also be supported in the workplace with regular progress and reviews.

Subjects Covered The programme covers a range of skills and includes the following five components: 1. NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (Level 2): 3 mandatory units to be taken, plus 3 optional units which may vary each year: Pathway 1: Fabrication & Machining • Producing mechanical engineering drawings using a CAD system • Preparing and using lathes for turning operations • Producing sheet metal components and assemblies OR • Preparing and using manual MIG, MAG and other continuous wire welding equipment Pathway 2: Electronic and Machining • Assembling and testing electronic circuits • Preparing and using lathes for turning operations • Producing sheet metal components and assemblies 2. Technical Certificate: BTEC Extended Certificate in Engineering (Level 2) 3. Functional Skills: Communications & Maths (Level 1) 4. Employment Rights & Responsibilities Workbook 5. Personal Thinking & Learning Skills How is the training delivered?
