Intermediate Apprenticeship - Hairdressing

Celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford will be working with the College from September so you’ll learn the tricks of the hairdressing trade, from the best of the best, as well as our brilliant teachers! You’ll learn how to wash, condition, cut and style all hair types and textures, in one of our fully equipped salons. You’ll also learn the science behind the art of hair colouring and how to apply colour to the hair using various techniques.

This Apprenticeship will suit you if you’re passionate about hairdressing and keen to improve your skills as a stylist.

Some of the topics covered will include:

• Consulting with clients to determine required service
• Cutting hair using basic techniques
• Perming and neutralising hair
• Relaxing and styling Afro hair

Three fully functioning salons are at the heart of our fantastic facilities and they will enable you to learn and grow in a real working environment. As your skills develop you’ll have a chance to cut and style the hair of paying customers who include the public, staff and students.

Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.

It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE.
