Course programme

What will I study?
The Apprenticeship covers a wide range of job roles within two pathways and what you study will depend on your chosen pathway.

Adult social care pathway:
  • You will learn how to work within an environment where you will help people with a particular need, people with disabilities, the elderly or people with learning difficulties, and develop practical care skills
  • You will gain an understanding of the responsibilities of a personal care assistant
Health care pathway:
  • You will gain experience by working as a healthcare assistant or support worker within hospitals, the community, hospices or private clinics, where you will learn your duties and responsibilities, supporting doctors or nurses or helping patients in hospital wards


What added value will I receive?
  • You will be given the opportunity to develop your Functional Skills in English and maths
  • You will work with employers to gain handson experience in the industry, using industrystandard equipment and earning a salary while you learn
  • First aid qualification


What can I progress to?
After completing this course, you can progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship.

What are the entry requirements?
  • GCSE English and maths at grade A-D
  • You will be required to complete an interview and have a clear DBS check
