Course Summary:
Aimed at learners working in health and social care settings, this apprenticeship provides you with the qualification to meet registration and regulatory requirements in the social care sector. It develops skills, knowledge and understanding to aid career progression.
Entry requirements
You must be working in a social care setting or job role on a paid employment basis for at least 30 hours a week (though this may be negotiable). Examples of suitable job roles include care assistants, support workers and key workers in residential settings, domiciliary services, community and primary care environments, day services and supported living projects.

Course Content: You will take the: Edexcel Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health, Social Care and Children and Young People’s Settings (QCF) You will also complete Functional Skills in Mathematics and English as well as Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. How will I be assessed? You will meet with your assessor and trainers either in a group of other learners or on a one-to-one basis. This will either be at a College site or at your workplace. You will work with your assessor to produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence and knowledge of your job role. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? Further study It is anticipated that learners will progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF), or to specialist qualifications reflecting the context in which they work.
