Intermediate Apprenticeship In Vehicle Fitting (Level 2)

Who is this course for?

This Apprenticeship will teach you the necessary skills and techniques for fitting activities on all types of light vehicles from mopeds to vans. This will prepare you to work in the fast fit industry. Vehicle fitting is interesting, challenging and very hands-on as every vehicle presents a new problem to solve. The ideal Apprentice will enjoy the challenge of problem solving, have an interest in machines and mechanics, good at communicating with colleagues and customers and working as part of a team.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

No previous qualifications required however GCSE Maths and English Grade C or higher is preferred

What will I study ?

An Apprenticeship in vehicle fitting will provide skills essential to this growth area of the motor repair industry. In a vehicle fitting technician role, an Apprentice will carry out replacement and repair of tyres, exhaust systems, basic braking system components as well as replacing batteries, other small service items and vehicle safety inspections. An Apprenticeship will help develop a professional working style, safe working practices, awareness of the work environment and communicating effectively with colleagues and customers. Other skills will include functional skills needed in the work place (Maths, English).

How will I be assessed ?

The practical component is carried out in the workshop. The knowledge component of this qualification is also independently assessed via online testing. The tests are mapped to each knowledge unit's learning outcomes and assessment criteria to ensure coverage. These tests are marked electronically by IMI Awards.
