Why Should I study the Intermediate Certificate in Personal Finance?
This Level 2 qualification should help teach you what you need to know about managing your money. It is equivalent to a GCSE.

The Intermediate Certificate in Personal Finance is divided into 2 units and 3 multiple choice exams. All the materials you need are available on-line and there are plenty of interactive on-line activities to help review your knowledge and practise.

Understanding money and how it affects you is a valuable life skill. Becoming â€-money wise' can help you take better control of your finances.

What skills do I need?

• An enthusiasm and desire to investigate the financial world and find out about how money can affect them and their choices in life
• An ability to carry out simple calculations such as percentages

How will I be taught?
The course is primarily delivered through on-line materials and e-quizzes. A key method of teaching and learning is the use of Blackboard (a Virtual Learning Environment)

How is the course assessed?
The course is divided into 2 units but there are 3 exams. All assessment is in the form of multiple choice questions of 30 minutes duration. The third test is, again multiple choice but lasting 1 hr. The final set of questions will assess knowledge of both the previous units.

Private Study
As an approximate guideline AS subjects require 3-4 hrs of independent study each; A2 subjects 4-5 hrs each and GCSE subjects 2 hrs each.
