Who is the course for?
People who are interested in pursung a career in the building industry

What is the course about?
Students will complete advanced brickwork tasks such as chimney breasts, arches, walls and pillars. Manual handling and scaffolding will also form part of the qualification. The course includes written theory work and external examinations. Skills for Life will be an integral part of the course

Will I need anything else?
boots and overalls

How long & often do I attend?
The course is 15 hours per week and students will spend the majority of time developing construction skills and the rest developing essential Skills for Life
By observation, production of a portfolio and an external examination.
NVQ in wood based trades. Employment in the carpentry/joinery industry. Apprenticeships

How will I be assessed?
By observation, production of a portfolio and an external examination.

What opportunities will this lead to?
Following this course you may progress onto a NVQ Level 2 upon gaining relevant employment. A wide range of employment opportunities in the Construction Industry.
