College Interview & Essential Skills Screening. VRQ Engineering L1 or similar qualification. You May Require: 4 GCSEs at grades D-G or equivalent. Satisfactory school report or references. (Students over 19 with relevant experience may be considered without GCSEs)

Course Overview
This course allows you to acquire intermediate engineering competencies in a College-based environment, which simulates working practice.

You will study three mandatory units:
- Engineering Environment Awareness
- Engineering Techniques
- Engineering Principles
And three Course Specific Units
- Engineering materials
- Milling & turning
- Hand fitting techniques
Qualification Aims
VRQ Level 2 in Engineering Technology
You will also have to study:
- Key Skills in Maths, English & ICT
Assessments/Examinations
There is an end of course, on-line examination based on the three mandatory units.
The Course Specific Units are assessed by internally marked assignments undertaken by the students at key stages of the course's progress.
