Ian Price
Director/ Principal Trainer
Ian holds National training qualifications, degrees, management qualifications and vocational certificates. Perhaps more relevant is that he speaks in competition – walking the walk so to speak. In 2004 Ian won the UK National Championship for Impromptu speaking, in 2005 the Southern Area Final for Prepared Speaking and in 2009 was the runner up at Nationals for Evaluation. One of the advantages this brings is the ability to instantly show a client a different, or better, way to deliver a difficult point.
Course programme
The Intermediate Course builds on the skills covered in the First Steps Course, although many people join this course directly. It is assumed that candidates have given some presentations although they may still be nervous, unsure and lacking in confidence. This two day course begins with the individuals delivering a previously prepared 5 minute presentation. Constructive feedback will again highlight areas to work on. Part of the course focuses on various components of a good presentation style – eye contact, body language, gestures, use of voice as well as construction and structure. The original presentation is then delivered a second time using the skills learnt through the first day. On day two work begins on a new presentation – concentrating on structure and delivery skills, whilst continuing to develop new skills along the way. This second presentation is delivered in the afternoon with full feedback from the trainer.

At the end of the course you will be confident and competent in your presentations. Building on from the First Steps course, or your own previous experience, you will feel empowered and enthused by your presentations and so will the audience! You will enjoy presenting and that in itself will rub off on the audience.
