Course programme
You will start in Photoshop by creating basic website elements: banner, logo, navigation. You will then use the slice tool to separate these objects into small files and then re-build the whole layout in Dreamweaver using div tags & CSS. You will then save this Master Page+ as a re-usable template, using editable and non-editable regions where appropriate to add and manage content.
Course content:
Photoshop: Canvas Size, Resolution, Rulers & Guides, Colour, Layer FX, Text, Free Transform, Slice Tool, Save for Web.
Dreamweaver:Properties palettes, Defining a site; creating new pages; adding and formatting content; creating and formatting hyperlinks; adding page structure using div tags; creating and editing CSS; saving a page as a re-usable template, adding and managing jQuery content, publishing a website.
Ideally, you will have a Level 1 Dreamweaver qualification, but solid experience in computing, website management and some experience in Photoshop will all be considered.
Assessment is by coursework and occasional practical examinations.
The course will give you the skills and experience needed to build your own professional website and prepare you for a longer/higher level course if desired.
