Course Content:
This course can be applied to the audit of quality or environmental management systems. You will study the following. Overview of Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems with regard to ISO 9000 Quality Systems and/or ISO 14001 Environmental Systems; Review of the changes of ISO 9000:2000; System documentation; Types of audit; Planning an internal audit; Reporting the internal audit; Conducting an internal audit; Qualifications and training of internal auditors; Completion of portfolio of evidence; The course includes the opportunity to participate in a practical Internal Audit, usually in a local company. Wherever possible, you are encouraged to arrange to carry out the Audit within your own company.

This course follows guidelines laid down by the Chartered Quality Institute. You will produce a portfolio of evidence and you will be assessed on this. You are expected to complete work based assignments. For those not currently employed, relevant work related assignments will be set.

Progression:
Successful students have gone on to study further courses in our Quality in Business Area, in particular the CQI D2 Quality Management course.
