Course programme
The course focuses on the relationship between communication, development and democracy.
Through the range of options available you will also gain a general knowledge of:
- media and communication studies within the context of globalisation
- the work of international organisations and nongovernmental organisations in development communication
- political communication
- media representation
- media audiences
- communications policy
- and trans-national media systems.
The course will appeal to students with a general interest in communication studies and cross-disciplinary interests in development studies, sociology and politics.
Course StructureYou will take three 30-credit core modules and either two 15-credit modules or one 30-credit module from the range of electives listed below. Should you wish to undertake elective modules not on the list which are offered within the School of Arts & Social Sciences, you should contact your Programme Director who may be able to arrange this for you. You will also complete a dissertation.
