About this course

Analyze in detail the legal system of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), its organic statutes and the regulations which govern contractual stability between players and football clubs, as well as the rules regulating the activities of players' representatives and agents who organize matches.

Analyze in detail the alternative mechanisms for resolving disputes within sport, with special emphasis on the workings and jurisprudence of the Court of Arbitration for Sport based in Lausanne (Switzerland).

Offer the student an example of a private sanctioning legal system as is the World Anti-Doping Code accepted at a supra-national level by governments and Sporting Institutions.

Through the practical exercises and by simulated arbitration, it is intended that students should improve their oral and written communication skills and abilities, as well as encouraging their capacity for organization and group work.
