About this course

The Fine Art summer school is aimed at those who would like to explore their artistic techniques in the rich setting of London's art scene. This course is for those with some existing competency in painting and drawing who want to expand on their skills. If you would like a refresher for your skills you can take the additional one week Introduction to Figure Drawing course on the previous week.

Patricia Mulligan

Foundation Leader, Paining and Drawing Tutor

Patricia is our Painting & Drawing tutor and also our Head of Art Foundation. She has a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths University, having earlier gained an MA in General Arts at Edinburgh University (specialising in art history & anthropology), and an Masters in Design & IT from Birmingham City University (specialising in digital design and animation). She has worked as a set designer and extensively as a digital designer, prior to concentrating on work as a visual artist and lecturer. All of these experiences inform her practice which is rooted in painting, printmaking, animation and writing.

Course programme

The Fine Art summer school is aimed at those who would like to explore their artistic techniques in the rich setting of London's art scene. This course is for those with some existing competency in painting and drawing who want to expand on their skills. If you would like a refresher for your skills you can take the additional one week Introduction to Figure Drawing course on the previous week.

The course will run from 4th July to 25th July

Week 1 - Painting and Printmaking

Week 2 - London Sketchbook - drawing landscapes and gallery sketching

Week 3 - Sculpture Now

Week 4 - Curating - both in situe and online.

No assessment aspect.
