Many business difficulties begin with ineffective communication however, address this and you can achieve much better results.

Have you ever felt your message has not been understood? That you feel tense when communicating with some individuals but don''t know why? That people appear to make assumptions about what you mean without listening to what you are saying?

Good communication is an essential skill. Without it our prospects of career success are limited. This course is designed to look at some fundamental skills and techniques of communication, which can lead to a change in the way we interact with others.

Designed for anyone who is looking to improve their abilities to get their message across to achieve what they want from any communication.

This course helps learners to :
  • Create interest in what they have to communicate
  • Plan their communications - what''s in it for them, interest, needs
  • See the world through other peoples'' eyes
  • Use their voice, language and body language to create rapport
  • Interpret signals and read beneath the surface of the words used
  • Structure their communication for maximum impact
  • Use questions to gain power
  • Handle objections
  • Understand the different types of communicator and manage the conflict between them.
Learners set their personal objectives for the day and communicate these. We review the nature of communication, how we are getting messages across and the impact of poor communication on individuals and the organisation. The course then explores the elements of communication including:
  • Planning your communications - the first stage of any good communication - assessing the needs of the audience, WIIFM (what''s in it for me) factors, and preferred communication styles in helping to gain and maintain interest and impact
  • Creating empathy and rapport - developing tools for effective communications - appreciating others'' perceptions of the world helps to manage our own transactions through awareness of individual behaviours and beliefs
  • Practical tools for supporting communications, based on understanding voice control, body language and impact techniques
  • Managing questions and dealing with the difficult ones
  • Increasing impact of written skills - highlighting the importance of appropriate writing

Everyone then sets their own individual action plans to create the basis of implementing the techniques for themselves at work.
