Course programme
The key theoretical principles associated with the safe insertion of a peripheral vascular access device (a cannula), including:
- Accountability;
- Site selection;
- Cannula gauge selection;
- Complications of insertion;
- Equipment requirements. In addition, you will learn how to perform the procedure of inserting a peripheral vascular access device and have the opportunity to practice this skill under supervision, using a manikin.
