Learn how to apply ‘Auricular Zonal Therapy’ to enhance your Acupressure Massage treatments

Auricular therapy is a system of healing which has been practiced in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. More recently however, the concept of Nogier’s reflex model based on the inverted foetus, has become widely used in the West.

Although often used with needles (acupuncture) the use of finger pressure, magnets and ear seeds also effectively helps alleviate a wide range of ailments. Its focus is on improving the health of the person by creating a balanced flow of energy (qi) through the body. The principle aim is to treat holistically in order to recover the equilibrium between the spiritual, emotional and physical aspects of the individual.

Aim of the course:
To provide learners with sufficient knowledge of Auricular Zonal Therapy in order to understand the principles and practice of Auricular Acupressure, enabling learners to begin to use some of these techniques to help prevent illness and bring about relief from many common but debilitating health problems.

Learners will be given the opportunity to make good use of the basic practice of Auricular therapy and associated massage moves.

An introduction to some of the traditional acupressure aids available, such as Vacaria ear seeds and adhesive miniature magnets will also be provided.

Motivation of the group:
The immediate health benefits for both the learners and their clients provide considerable motivation, in addition perceived benefits and the after care required ensures long-term client satisfaction.

Learning styles and time allocation:
The methods of input will include

  • Lecture assisted by a presentation
  • Examples of health problems resolved
  • Ear models for each student, plus printed handouts showing zones and some key acupoints, plus the opportunity to buy appropriate books
  • Demonstration of a treatment routine and acu-point location and acupressure techniques with plenty of opportunity to practice on each other.
