About this course
No prior experience is required, though some hair skills helps but not necessary if you are good with hair. A keen interest in hair styling will help students maximise on training potential. A basic hairdressing kit will be required. A list of required tools will be sent via the tutor.

Our trainer is a qualified and experienced Lecturer of Hairdressing and NVQ Hairdressing Assessor, with over 30 years experience in the hairdressing industry. All our courses have been designed to the National Hairdressing Standards.
Course programme
The Silk Trends Academy ‘Introduction to Braiding workshop’ course has been designed as an taster/introduction to Hair Braiding and covers all the essential basic skills in hair braiding.
The course is an ideal way to gain the confidence in braiding all types of hair. Class sizes are kept low, max 6 students per session, to ensure you get the support you need.
Introduction to Braiding workshop
The course is delivered in one session (on a Sunday) using a mixture of theory and practical methods, and is an ideal way to gain the confidence in braiding hair.
Duration: 1 Sunday session (10.30am til 4.30pm).

- Single Braid style (natural)
- SIngle Braid style (with extensions)
- Cornrow style (natural)

- Sew-in Weave (Single track weave extension)
On successful completion of the course, students will receive the Silk Trends Academy ‘Introduction to Braiding workshop’ Diploma.
Our tutor is a qualified Lecturer in Hairdressing and NVQ assessor, with over 29 years experience in the hairdressing industry. The course is designed to National Standards and will act as sound introduction to Hair Braiding.
