Programme outline

1. Introduction: Being Human, Human Values, Religious Values, Christian Values.

2. Christianity: Christian ways of Being; Christian Ethics.

3. Scriptural Basis for Christian Ethics: Moral Rights and Responsibilities in the Old Testament/New Testament.

4. Christian Rights and Responsibilities: In regard to self, as a member of my family, as a citizen of my country.

5. Christian Ethics and Human Rights: socialisation; schooling; social care; social conscience; working environment; justice.

6. Christian Ethics and Human Rights: aspects of persuasion; war; conflict; peace.

7. Christian Perspective on ecology: globalisation; global responsibility; stewardship.

8. Christian ethical perspective on healthcare issues: e.g. euthanasia, abortion, organ transplants.

No prior qualifications required for the course.
