Introduction to Coaching
Coaching has quickly become a recognised way of increasing and maintaining the performance of people and is a must have skill for today’s leader. Helping people to see for themselves where they can improve and guiding them to ways in how they will do it generates much more commitment then simply telling someone that they must improve and how they should do it.
When we generate our own ideas we become much more committed to carrying out the actions. Coaching can be used in various ways for example improving performance and career development.
Coaching is a skill and therefore needs to be developed, and this course will provide a sound understanding of what coaching is and how to apply the skill. The session introduces these skills, the behaviours and a tried and tested coaching structure making it easy to apply. In the session we will cover subjects such as:
What is coaching:
· Why coaching works?
· How does coaching differ to other development techniques?
· When coaching won't work?
· Coaching to improve performance
· Applying a coaching structure
· Coaching in groups
· Providing feedback
· Coaching through under-performance
We have delivered this workshop to previous clients who all report an increase in confidence and improved prices saving them money
The session is very interactive with lots of discussion, role-play scenarios and an action planning session.
Prior to the session you will receive detailed joining instruction that highlight the learning objectives and what you need to do to prepare. You will also leave the course with an action plan that details how you will transfer the learning back to your organisation.
